100% freehand-painted | haute porcelaine | made in France
A tribute to the famous buildings of the International Fairs of the 20th century. At that time, far away from any trading mindset, the arts would merge together to create very unique and experimental works. Indeed, porcelain was taking an active part in the process, wood was worked like foliage and metal carved like wood. Every shape was systematically geometrised. The space was thought of as artwork. This is the spirit behind the audacious architecture of Expositions Universelles : hand painted porcelain, renewing an artistic approach that transforms each item into a unique work.
The EXPOSITIONS UNIVERSELLES collection symbolizes the industrial revolution of the early 20th century, the marriage between nature and mechanical order. This collection includes six variations of the legendary French pavilions of the Universal Exhibitions. At this time when, far from any commercial logic, the arts merge to create unique and experimental pieces, porcelain is invited on the walls, wood becomes foliage, metal is worked and the forms are systematically geometric. The space has been designed to elevate decoration to the level of art. It is in this spirit that evokes a new and daring architecture that the sculptural lines of the collection are expressed. The entirely hand-painted porcelain renews this artisanal approach that makes each object a unique work of art.
